DU SITE D'ENCHERES
<<EBAY-USA>>
|
changer

AIR CONDITIONED
- Vehicle Description, NOTE:
auction is for car only and not for parts listed below, which will
be available to winning bidder at extra cost. I bought this car
primarily for the A/C unit, but my plans changed so left the car
as is. Car was registered and inspected in NJ through 2000--note
trunk mounted brake light. Previous owner obviously tried to keep
on the road: repainted red (originally tan), brown vinyl seat
covers over tan cloth regal upholstery, flasher unit in the cig
lighter spot on the dash, trunk mounted brake light, aftermarket
AM/FM Cassette stereo, carpet replaced. Original engine replaced
with an OHV 6 and trans unit, most likely from a '63. I say that
because the A/C unit is the type used in '63's, the grill is from
a '63, and the trans dipstick is accessible from the engine
compartment. Accordingly, I do not know what the true mileage is
for the car or the engine.
- Vehicle Condition : Car is in
pretty good shape. Overall solid, but there is a nickle sized rust
hole in the right rear wheel well opening next to rear door; some
blistering at bottom of left rear door, and some rust in the inner
edge of the hood (not visible with hood closed). Paint looks
pinkish, but will polish up to a reasonable shine: under the top
coat the paint is red, but the top coat/clear coat has changed to
dull and is flaking off in a few places. Note that there are the
accessoy door handle guards on the front door handles. The
interior is whole and complete: Headliner was replaced also, door
panels are stock. It is reasonably clean for a daily driver. All
glass is good. Engine runs ok, a little smoke on startup but that
goes away after a few minutes. The trans shifts ok but is sluggish
overcoming inertia (bands need adjusting?). I've driven the car
several times to my mailbox (one mile roundtrip) and the car runs
ok and climbs my steep driveway ok. The A/C unit does work, but
would need to be charged. Trunk is clean, spare is new and matches
the tires on the car. If you look at the pic of the rear of the
car you will notice that the gas cap is external. I assume the gas
tank or neck was replaced with one longer than original (maybe
from a '63?). There is no problem with that--just wanted to point
it out as a have an NOS rear panel as described below. PARTS that
I have available at extra cost: NOS rear trunk panel, NOS hood
ornament, NOSR trunk mat and tire cover, new stop light switch,
used set of tail light lens, and manuals (shop, chassis, body,
owners). Package price for these parts is $200. Also, I have a 259
2bbl (not certain what year) mounted to a '58 automatic that came
out of a '58 President, TT rear with finned brake drums, front
suspension/brake assemblies with finned brake drums, and a front
sway bar out of the same President that is available (will also be
available to buyers of my three '58 Packards listed now on
ebay.)
